Stem Cell Treatment for Eyes
Thirty percent of Americans over 65 have macular degeneration and it is now the leading cause of blindness in our aging population. There are now 30 million Americans with diabetes, and worldwide there is between 9 and 15% of the world population with type II diabetes who, if they live long enough, will develop diabetic retinopathy — another leading cause of blindness.
Because Longevity Medicine has multiple types of stem cells, we can treat conditions like glaucoma, macular degeneration and other eye diseases successfully with our stem cell therapies. For example in treating diabetic eye disease, we use the multiple stem cell approach — a neural cell for the retina, a retinal pigmented epithelial cell to heal the front part of the eye and finally a mesenchymal cell to correct the bleeding behind the eye. We have found that the combination of these three cells result in great improvement in diabetic eye disease and a restoration of vision.
A person should not wait until they are almost blind before seeking stem cell treatment. We incorporate nutritional and dietary recommendations along with the stem cell therapy to enhance the effectiveness of the stem cell treatment.
