Stem Cell Treatment for Spinal Cord Injury
Before stem cell transplantation for her spinal cord injury, Arlene was unable to function without assistance. She could not stand, walk, control bowel/bladder function, bathe, get out of bed by herself, or feel sensation in her legs.
After post second transplantation, Arlene is able to stand, walk, feel sensation in her legs, control her bowel and bladder function, bathe, and much more. She went from being unable to function without assistance to being able to do function by herself. She can drive a car, operate a computer, write a letter, get out of bed by herself, and shop and run errands by herself.
